The 63,000-square-foot “neighborhood center” is leasing space to buildout a service offering of “practical everyday conveniences and services” for locals while repurposing the Larkin Refrigeration Company and Veteran’s Radiator buildings in the community.

“We see Larkin on Memorial as a place for the neighborhood to get all of their shopping needs met in one community-oriented location while also aiming to support area families,” Merritt Lancaster, a principal with Paces Properties, said in the announcement.

“Adding these next two tenants to the project fully incorporates our idea of a Grant Park center filled with convenience.”

Shep’s Grant Park Ace Hardware is an independently owned family retailer of Ace Hardware, selling brands such as Big Green Egg, Stihl, Yeti, Weber, Toro and Craftsman. The Larkin location, a 5,700-square-foot store, would be the second in the Atlanta area, with each Ace Hardware store tailored to meet the needs of the local community.

“We are incredibly excited to be opening our second location in Larkin on Memorial,” Zach Stafford, owner of Shep’s, said in the release.

“We believe we will be able to fill a tremendous need for the wonderful people of Grant Park and the surrounding communities. We will continue to focus on our mission of exemplary customer service and superior product.”

Along with Shep’s Grant Park Ace Hardware, Primrose Schools will also open a Larkin on Memorial outpost. Primrose school is independently owned and provides full-day early education and child care services to children ages 0-5 and after-school care to children ages 6-12.

“Grant Park has become one of Atlanta’s most desirable intown neighborhoods,” Chris Goethe, Vice President of Franchising for Primrose Schools, said in the release.

“Now we have the opportunity to provide a premier early education and care experience to families in this part of Atlanta while being part of a transformative project.”

Larkin, at 519 Memorial Drive, is expected to open fall 2017.
