“…Some of you may know we are now part of Metrotainment Cafes,” according to the post.

La Paz closed its doors mid-November with plans to reopen as Guaco Joe’s under the new restaurant group.

“Guaco Joe’s, [formerly] La Paz, is open for lunch right now,” the restaurant wrote in a Facebook post this week.

“…There are many changes to check out with renovation and food and drink menus. Please be patient as everyone gets used to all the changes…”

Guaco Joe’s now has its own website and Facebook page, both of which display very little information about the new concept.

Atlanta-based Metrotainment Cafes owns and operates Einsteins, Hudson Grille, Joe’s on Juniper, Metrotainment Bakery, Epic Events Catering, Sugar Shack and Cowtippers, according to the restaurant group’s website.

  1. There was nothing better than La Paz’s Blue Corn Chicken Enchilada. I was even interviewed for Atlanta Magazine for my favorite restaurant, and that dish was my favorite there. It was the first-gone location in Sandy Springs. I’d still travel to Vinings for one of those enchiladas. Are they gone now under the “new concept?” Or will that “new concept” be just another Tex-Mex? La Paz was more “southwestern” that I learned to love in New Mexico.
