The studio with ‘ready-to-use salon spaces’ is coming soon to Home Park.
Universal Salon Suites, a new hair studio that will offer individual spaces for lease to independent hairstylists, is gearing up to open in the Home Park neighborhood of Atlanta near Atlantic Station.
Local entrepreneur Markela Taylor Thursday filed plans with City of Atlanta to convert space, at 1210 Fowler St NW, into the shared-salon concept.
Universal will offer “ready-to-use salon spaces” to “professional” hairstylists. Rates are by the hour, half day or full day, complete with on-site support including internet and towel service.
An estimated $400,000 will be spent building out the 6,000-square-foot hair studio.
Universal is similar to Ohio-based Salon Lofts, a concept that has been leasing space within its retail locations to independent beauty professionals since 2002.
