The restaurant won’t stay dark for long. Gilbert’s is reopening December 7 as G’s Midtown under the same ownership.

“Today is our last day as Gilbert’s,” according to the Facebook post. “We will have a quick makeover and reopen as G’s Midtown this week.”

Gilbert’s, at 219 10th Street, closed its doors for good on Monday.  After a week of renovations, the space will reopen as a gastropub concept that will feature a new menu and decor.

Chef Javier Viera will helm the kitchen, serving Atlantans items like mac & steak, pimento cheese burger with arugula, fried jalapeños, and fish tacos.

The 1,500-square-foot space will highlight exposed brick walls, a concrete bar and multiple TVs throughout after the renovation is complete.

Last night, G’s invited all of its Facebook friends to a sneak peek grand opening celebration on Friday, December 6 before the restaurant officially reopens on Saturday.
