Unmatched Burger Wars: Five Guys Burgers and Fries Vs. Evos

Five Guys Burgers and Fries had been rumored among industry insiders to be opening at Spire Condominiums in Midtown.

Confirmation from the developers’ office at Spire and Five Guys has us confidently reporting plans for a September or November opening.

Despite the fact that the lease has not officially been signed by either parties, Five Guys Burgers and Fries has expressed their sincerest interest in taking the space closest to F20 (Fresh to Order).

The actual location has not been confirmed but insiders suggest the shuttered Kuhlman boutique adjacent to F20 will be the newest home to Five Guys at Spire.

With an empty space next to Kuhlman where Z Pizza once was serving gluten free pizza, there are several options for Five Guys Burgers and Fires along 7th Street.

Ironically, Evos restaurant, a healthy alternative to burgers and fries is directly across the street. Offering items that are baked rather than fried.

Wondering if when Five Guys opens, Atlantan’s who thought they would give Evos a try in an effort to eat healthy will end up across the street at Spire wolfing down a greasy burger at Five Guys?

  1. I really hope Evos establishes itself before 5 Guys moves in and distracts Atlantans from eating healthy, their food is incredible and I never feel greased up and bloated after eating there like I do at other burger chains. 5 Guys is OK if you’re a teenager, but as a “20-something”, I find my body needs more healthy alternatives, and our city does as well.

  2. My husband and I LOVE Evos! We eat there frequently. I have eaten at 5 Guys once and only once. It tasted ok, but just ok, and the greasy/gross feeling stayed with me for the rest of the day. I eat at Evos and feel terrific; even if I eat their burger. So no, we won’t be going to 5 Guys.

  3. Five Guys will be a welcome addition to the neighborhood. They offer high quality burgers which are grilled not deep fried. Five Guys is awesome. Similar to In and Out on the west coast. At least there will be something for everyone…..Welcome Five Guys….

  4. The more retail in the area the better regardless of what you think about the health of their burgers. By that logic get rid of nearly every restaurant and let’s have barren streets!

  5. Awesome…another great hamburger option…and it will get my business. When eating hamburger and fries I want to taste the real thing – fat and juicy!

I eat virtually every meal out and live only a block away…will be seeing me lots…go five guys burgers and fries!

  6. We already have Vortex & Gordon Biersch and now the awesome and healthy Evos – the last thing we need is another burger place in a couple hundred square feet. I’m really afraid that the competition will put Evos out of business and I’ll have 3 cruddy, fattening burger places on my block and have lost the one organic one. How about some variety, why not a Chipotle or a Chinese restaurant in that spot?
Anyway, support the healthy, organic Evos – go eat there today!!!
