Sixth restaurant for Fifth Group

UPDATE (July 22, 2011): Fifth Group announces new Tex-Mex restaurant’s name

Fifth Group Restaurants announced today they’ve signed a lease for the former Italian restaurant space, II Mulino, Downtown.

II Mulino Restaurant first opened Dec. 2008 and closed Nov. 2010 and is expected to open elsewhere, according to their website.

Located at the One Ninety One Peachtree tower, the restaurant is currently unnamed but is scheduled to open in the fall, according to the press release.

Serving up authentic Tex-Mex and Mexican-inspired dishes for lunch and dinner, Fifth Group will also provide catering services to the Downtown area through their established catering company, Bold American.

Taking a 5,200-square-foot space with seating for 195, the space will have two bar areas with booths and tables extending into the office building’s atrium.

Ai3 and Bill Peace of Peace have teamed up to oversee the design.

This will be the sixth Atlanta-area restaurant for Fifth Group Restaurants, the Atlanta based restaurant group who’s portfolio includes South City Kitchen (Midtown and Vinings), La Tavola, Ecco, and El Taco.

  1. I didn’t see that either, but anyways… anything opening downtown is good news. Now if we could just get some visible locations filled up like old Goodfellas, Pig Sty, and the empty space next to it with something GOOD and worthwhile that would be awesome.

  2. has that sweet georgia juke joint opened up yet? Seems like a place with character in a prime spot in a prime building, so I’d love to hear what people think about it.
