The coffee house located at the Terminus Complex shuttered Tuesday, according to Chip Andrew, senior property manager at the Buckhead development. Emerald Coast first opened at Terminus in 2009.

Terminus tenants were notified of the coffee house’s closure early Tuesday.

Today, the complex posted in its publication, The Terminus Times, that the coffee house has closed.

“Effective immediately Emerald Coast has closed their doors,” according to the post.

No word on what will take Emerald Coast’s place at this time.

  1. They had the best coffee in the area, though. I, for one, will miss them. Their downfall was that they were competing for a smaller amount of office workers against the likes of proven successes like Fifth Group (Cantina), MF, Bricktops, Flying Biscuit, Chipotle, and others. With Subway now open (as of today for anyone who works at Terminus), who would buy a $10 meal at Emerald Coast over a $5 footlong? And on top of this, they were in a huge space. There was even an entire kitchen behind the large seating area.

Whoever supplied their beans needs to distribute to someone else in the building pronto because it was some of the smoothest and strongest coffee I have had, and cheap enough where $2 got you a cup the size of a Starbucks grande.

  2. They closed down most, if not all, of their locations in the Florida panhandle (Emerald Coast) as well. They were the closest coffee shop to my parents house down there by miles, and much better than any of the next closest.

  3. I like Terminus, but I think it’s a bad location because of poor visibility from Peachtree and Piedmont. People who have never been to Terminus before don’t know what’s back there and don’t want to deal with the parking situation.
