A building permit application was filed with City of Atlanta Tuesday to install the new 200-square-foot Starbucks at an estimated cost of $159,600.
“We will open a Starbucks,” Glynn Jenkins, a company spokesperson, confirmed with What Now Atlanta (WNA) in an email.
That is, if all goes well with the permitting process.
“Please be advised that a permit has not been granted at this time, therefore the project is not final. Please feel free to check back for updates.”

Isn’t there already a Starbucks in that Target right there?
Because there NEEDS TO BE MORE CARS in that parking lot.
There was a Starbucks in this Kroger when it first opened! Yes, there were 3 in the complex (Kroger, Target, Barnes & Noble). I think after 1-2 years they removed it.
How about they spend $160,000 on additional security and cameras to keep people from getting carjacked all the time?
Open the store with a Starbucks. Spend the money a couple years later to rip it out. Spend more money putting it back in. Makes perfect financial sense to me.
Did Caribou’s departure a couple of years ago from the other section of the shopping center really leave that many folks without a cup of coffee? Crazy… That’s right: there were four coffee shops at that Edgewood shopping center when it opened 10 years ago.
