Clues and Cocktails Set For November 15 Grand Opening

Escape rooms to come alive with themed performances, role-playing and craft beverages.

Clues and Cocktails will hold its grand opening on November 15th at 314 Auburn Avenue following its alcohol license approval on October 29th, owner Joy Christina confirmed on a phone call with What Now Atlanta.

The escape room-themed bar and restaurant will anchor the ground floor of Room Escape, a two-story entertainment space also owned by Christina, where guests go on scavenger hunts and solve timed puzzles to escape one of several locked rooms.

True to its motif, the grand opening theme is a “top secret mystery,” Christina said, though a professional casting site post hints at an upcoming immersive jail-themed period piece to be staffed by casting director Miracle Sims, where roaming characters will interact, sing, and serve guests specialty cocktails Cabaret-style at the Sweet Auburn venue.

“This show will give our guests an immersive experience of what [it] was like in a southern jail in the 1940s and 1950s. It deals with racial issues of the past and present with a fun twist,” the post stated.

Other ideas floated earlier included a Juke Joint backdrop set in a barn with a rustic feel.

An internal planning meeting Friday was held to hash out the final details of the grand opening concept, the private soft opening and VIP guest gatherings planned for the week before, and a social media roll-out that will include a clue-finding interactive experience throughout the city.

“We were just waiting on the alcohol to get going,” Christina said.

“The goal with the bar is to build on the Room Escape experience. When guests come in they will be greeted by characters and, at that point, they can play along or just enjoy their drinks.”
