Cinco de Mayo At Home: Atlanta Restaurants Announce DIY Fiesta Kits Amid Coronavirus Closures

Although Atlanta restaurants have started reopening dining rooms, the likelihood of Cinco de Mayo gatherings and events next week are virtually zero.

But that won’t stop Atlantans from having a fiesta, even if its in self-isolation.

Several local restaurants are offering DIY Cinco de Mayo kits and margarita mix to-go. Check out the list below and return frequently for updates!

Hampton + Hudson Cinco de Mayo Kits

Celebrate Cinco de Mayo at home with the restaurant and bar’s Barbacoa Taco Kit, Michelada Kit, and more.

The Barbacoa Taco Kit ($50, serves four) includes Tecate braised beef brisket, corn tortillas and fixings, including queso fresco, chipotle lime crema, salsa verde, pico de gallo and lime, and can be paired with chips & guac ($10), cilantro lime rice ($5) and black beans ($5).

The Michelada Kit ($25) features a six-pack of Tecate with bloody mary mix, tabasco, pickled veggies, and meat stick straws, and the H+H House Margarita Mix & Maracas Kit ($20) includes a gallon margarita mix made with lime, orange, grapefruit and simple syrup – just add liquor!

Pre-orders can be placed before 5 p.m. on Friday, May 1 by emailing [email protected]. Food is available for pick-up and delivery. Beverage kits are available for pick-up only.

On The Border

Starting Wednesday, April 29, On The Border guests can begin pre-ordering a “Cinco in a Bag” online for pickup on Cinco de Mayo.

For $25, the Cinco in a Bag includes a Taco Family Meal (Seasoned Ground Beef only), a bowl of queso, fun swag (while supplies last), and five Cinco cups (while supplies last). Alcohol, dessert, and additional food can be added.

Yumbii Take-Out

The taco shop is offering a pick-up and delivery menu (here) of tacos, bowls, burritos, chips, and sriracha cheese dip, and more, as well as large family-style items, including Family Taco Packages and Taco Casserole.

Atlantans can even have the Yumbii truck come to their neighborhood. Plus, Yumbii adds one complimentary roll of toilet paper to each order!

Happy Seed

Happy Seed is offering curbside pick-up of its plant-based Latin menu on Monday, May 4 from a mano in Old Fourth Ward.

The menu features a selection of items available to-go including appetizers, tacos, tamales, and freshly shaken margaritas which can be ordered here by this Friday, May 1 for pick-up on Monday, May 4.

Happy Seed is also offering “Taco Packs” for $20 which include a choice of three tacos and two sides.
