The “nation’s largest organization dedicated to the art form of puppetry” submitted a building permit application with City of Atlanta late last week to build a three story addition to the center, at 1404 Spring Street.

An estimated $2,420,696 will be spent constructing the 21,250-square-foot addition.

The entire project includes new museum galleries, a renovated entryway, and other upgrades to the center’s existing spaces. The new space will feature expanded exhibit areas for the center’s global collection and the Jim Henson Collection.

The Center For Puppetry Arts is on track to unveil the new addition in 2015. Click here to read more about the expansion.
