Atlanta-based Pop Stars, an “all-natural ice pop brand,” launched this June, according to a press release Wednesday.

The new frozen treat company joins the battle for your tastebuds against established Atlanta favorite, The King Of Pops.

Pop Stars, created by Ayesha Paul, produces gluten and dairy-free ice pops incorporating all-natural and organic ingredients. Sweetened with all-natural cane sugar and made with rice and coconut milk, the pops’ caloric values range from 70 to 120 calories each.

With flavors like Sweet Potato Pie and PB&J, Pop Stars is calling itself the “best pops ever.”

“With the tagline of the ‘best pops ever,’ Paul’s creations live up to their motto, offering unique and creative combinations with distinct, concentrated flavor in each bite,” according to the release.

Currently available at Nature’s Own Herb Shop in Hapeville, Georgia, the pops will soon be stocked at the Ponce de Leon Avenue Whole Foods Market in midtown. Atlantans can expect to find the pops at Whole Food’s Buckhead and Briarcliff markets before summer’s end.

In addition to retail locations, Pop Stars can be found at a variety of events throughout the city with its food truck, a refurbished 1960 vintage Ford truck.

Pop Stars cost $3.00 each.

  1. Mercury, lead, and cocaine are all gluten free. I think people need to stop worrying about the cutest new trends in food.

  2. I was at Governors Ball (in NYC) this past weekend and, much to my surprise, they had a stand in the middle of one of the fields selling out of their cart. Is King of Pops expanding its market? Maybe they were just there doing the outdoor music festival circuit (they seemed to be an endless line there). Regardless, I was surprised (and happy) to see them in the NY area. NY has some “pops” as well (e.g. Peoples Pops) but, in my opinion, they are not as good at the KOP offerings.

  3. why is it that Atlanta can’t be satisfied with ONE of a unique item? Why do we have to have imitators? Come up with your own unique idea, and then I’ll show up at your stand. Maybe make yours with alcohol?

  4. It’s funny that all these people are commenting about kop. Their pops are watered down and quality will win. Also kop wasn’t the first. There are tons of mom and pop Paletas shops/brands in Atlanta. There is nothing Mexican or authentic about kop pops. Paletas have more fruit than water!! I’ll try popstar’s pops to see if they are any good.
