This time it will be with people instead of movie rentals.

Well Street Urgent Care submitted an application for a building permit with City of Atlanta Tuesday to convert the movie rental store into its newest facility.

An estimated $25,000 will be spent on an exterior conversion only, according to the application.

The urgent care facility will open August 2012, according to Well Street’s website.

Well Street was not immediately available for comment.

  1. What’s wrong with an urgent care? There’s the little one down the road, but it’s low profile. Obviously there’s a need, and better that than another Panera or something.

  2. Highland Urgent Care, which is a block away, isn’t open late or on weekends. It is only open primary care physician’s hours on weekdays. This will fill a need for people who can’t make it the two miles to the urgent care location in the Edgewood Retail district.
