Bazaria To Replace Midtown’s Lime Fresh (Formerly Bakeshop)

Eastern Mediterranean Grill opening soon.

Eastern Mediterranean Grill opening September 1.

The space formerly occupied by Lime Fresh Mexican Grill (and Bakeshop before that), at 903 Peachtree Street, won’t sit dark long (Lime Fresh shuttered all of its Atlanta locations last year after the restaurant was acquired by Ruby Tuesday.)

Bazaria, a fast-casual Eastern Mediterranean grill, has begun building out the Midtown location. Workers at the space Thursday were seen covering the storefront in signage for the Mediterranean grill.

The restaurant will serve house-baked pitas, seasoned meats, hand chopped veggies and signature sauces, according to Bazaria’s website.

The Eastern Mediterranean grill is slated to open September 1, a spokeswoman told What Now Atlanta (WNA) in an email Thursday.

Developing…

After the closure of Bakeshop and Lime Fresh, is this concept here to stay? Leave your thoughts in the comments!

  1. Glad something’s going there. But, one block away is Cafe Agora, same food. We just got Hacienda across the street from Frogs and Tacos and Tequila Mexican Grill upstairs in the same building as Qdoba Mexican Grill. Do these chain folks research what’s around them?

  2. @marc

Café Agora and Bazaria share a similar label of Mediterranean Food, but the regions in which the food and flavors are from are different. Mediterranean food is derived from multiple countries and each country offers a unique flavor profile. Café Agora focuses most on Turkish and Greek flavors while Bazaria uses flavor profiles from Lebabon, Turkey, Israel and Syria.

  3. Thank GOD for What Now Atlanta!!! Restaurants come and go here like a windy day! There are some that have actually opened and closed and I never even got to them! Geez!!!

  4. In addition to Cafe Agora, there’s Pita’s Republic (more casual) near North Ave and now Cafe Mezo at the old Fifth Ivory space which has very similar menu items. I can’t imagine there’s a large market for this type of food. (Cafe Mezo has a pending lawsuit by Intermezzo over the name. Ironically, Fifth Ivory’s name came into being given they had to change their name which had ‘Murphys’ in it, obviously the long-time VA Highland restaurant wasn’t happy.

    Cheers.

  5. I personally can’t have enough Mediterranean restaurant options… Bring it on! I love Lebanese food, and it’s hard to find in a fast casual setting… can’t wait to try Bazaria!
