The retailer’s sixth U.S. location coming soon to the luxury mixed-use development.
Akris Buckhead Atlanta is slated to open August 25, the international fashion house in a press release announced Thursday.
The new boutique, a 2,164-square-foot space in the open-air luxury shopping center, at 3035 Peachtree Road NE, will feature Akris, Akris accessories and Akris punto.
Akris Creative Director Albert Kriemler designs the sleek women’s wear and accessories line including the “trapezoidal Ai bag” made of Mongolian horsehair. The Akris collection as well as its sportier sister line Akris punto are also available in over 500 points of distribution worldwide.
“The fashion-forward and independent women in the U.S. were the first to embrace Akris and my sleek, refined and versatile style like nobody before,” Kriemler said in the release. “I am delighted to open a new store for the modern and influential women of Atlanta.”
The new Atlanta boutique, the brand’s sixth U.S. location, will incorporate “the signature Akris curvilinear maple wood wall and matte marble floors.”
Other furnishings include a dark brown leather armchair and a polished stainless steel trapezoid side table designed by Hilmer & Sattler and Albrecht architects. A signature element in every Akris store is the Cherner Chair by midcentury US architect and designer Norman Cherner. For the first time in the United States, the refreshed Akris punto concept is applied, including backlit walls and S-shaped racks.
Akris is an international fashion house founded in 1922 and based in St. Gallen, Switzerland, and has been owned and run by its founding family for three generations.
