MF Buckhead files for bankruptcy

Owners fight to keep sushi restaurant afloat.

MF Buckhead LLC has filed for Bankruptcy protection, according to Lisa Schoolcraft with the Atlanta Business Chronicle.

The sushi restaurant, at 3280 Peachtree Road in Buckhead, made the filing Nov. 14 in U.S. Bankruptcy Court, the report notes.

The owners of MF Buckhead have already shuttered two other concepts this year. MF Sushibar, a sister concept located at 265 Ponce de Leon Avenue, closed on Nov. 9. The other was NAM, a Vietnamese restaurant, which closed earlier this year.

This is not surprising at all. The food here was mediocre at best. One of the owners runs around town posing as an Atlanta celebrity (re: a nobody with an ego), and the execution at this place was horrible.

That’s NOT Alex, that is his brother, the designer. The sushi was excellent by the way. It sounds like the economy and the recent plethora of sushi joints did them in. Alex had the guts to put the original location on Ponce and made it work for 11 years. Kudos.
