Fitness center to add pool, basketball and racquetball court.
LA Fitness is moving forward with plans to renovate its Buckhead location.
An employee at the fitness center, located at 3232 Peachtree Road NW, told What Now Atlanta earlier this year, the gym will get an updated look and new amenities to match future LA Fitness locations.
LA Fitness filed a permit with City of Atlanta last week for the renovations, estimated at $2,000,000.00. New amenities include an indoor pool, basketball and racquetball court, according to a press release.
The 28,347 square-foot fitness center will double its square footage. Post renovations, the Buckhead LA Fitness will be 53,143 square feet, according to the release.
Housed in the Buckhead Place shopping center (a Coro Realty Advisors property), the fitness center is one of the oldest locations for the brand in Georgia. The shopping center is also home to Marshalls and the soon-to-open Pier 1 Imports.
Members are invited to continue use of the facility, which will remain open during renovations, though are invited to use other locations.
When the renovations will be completed has not been confirmed.

And it shows. That place is absolutely nasty; I started using the Brookhaven location and haven’t looked back since. Shi**y old equipment, and a moldy locker room you can smell from the parking deck.

LA Fitness seems to put in nice equipment and then lets things just rot. This was my experience at the LA Fitness Ansley as well. I don’t want no MRSA on my purty face.
PLEASE, PLEASE let them spend $2 million to redo the LA Fitness at Ansley Mall as well…..the place and equipment are disgusting, but so convenient to my house and work….I refuse to go because it’s disgusting.
caleb, any idea what the construction activity in front of the Buckhead Place shopping center on the piedmont side is? (where the old bridgetown restaurant used to be)

“Big John’s Christmas Tree’s is setting up there for the holidays. There are future plans to knock down the building, but I do not have a time frame for you on this.”

thanks for the info. activity suggests more than just the xmas tree tent as crews have been working in the old bridgetown building and orange spray paint markers are used all over the property and the empty lot near.
