High-end Italian restaurant closes in Midtown.

UPDATE (August 17,2011): Yard House Restaurant to replace Dolce at Atlantic Station

Dolce Enoteca E Ristorante at Atlantic Station has closed, according to Walter Woods, Atlantic Station spokesman.

Woods told What Now Atlanta over the phone Monday that several new tenants will opening at the Midtown development, including one to replace the Italian restaurant.

“We plan on announcing three exciting uses for the center,” Woods said. “We’ve asked people what they want and that’s more local restaurants and retail.”

The now shuttered Dolce Enoteca E Ristorante joins sister restaurant, Geisha House, which closed at the Midtown development earlier this year.

Stay tuned for Atlantic Station’s announcement on the multiple tenant replacement for Dolce.

It’s good to see they asked the people what they wanted.

Why post this article? It’s useless..it tells us nothing…I mean you could have waited until they actually announced what was taking over the space.

Hey J, I’ve got the inside info on the new spots taking its place. Its going to be three small restaurants:

    1. Sour Grapes Wine Bar
    2. Pissy Anonymous Commenter Cafe
    3. Anger Issues Sports Bar & Tavern

    You’re welcome! :)

I’d wager Fox Sports Grill and Strip may not be far behind.

I actually liked Enoteca. They had a great Monday night half off deal and the restaurant had a cool vibe. The food was not particularly memorable, but I never had a bad meal there. Hope its replaced by something good.

FOX Sports Grill should be replaced with a real sports bar.

When are they announcing the openings? I don’t like a closing without an announcement….makes me think nothing is on the way…..

  13. Just a guess August 16, 2011 at 7:24 pm #

It sounds like they have three new uses for the center, not just for the Dolce space. It’s possible Regal will take over the Dolce space to expand and the other two new replacements tenants might be coming to one of the empty spaces like the old American Eagle, White House/Black Market or Pier One locations…

By the way, their PR folks are slow!

hi just a guess — you’re exactly right: it’s three separate tenants most likely in the spaces you mentioned. as for the cinemas expansion, that’s still speculation and a rumor. we hope atlantic station will release concrete details tomorrow (after promising them by lunchtime today). we’ll continue chasing this story. thanks for your patience!

I think Ten Pin Alley closing is the bigger deal…

  16. Bad sign... August 17, 2011 at 12:05 am #

Time kills deals, if they are planning an announcement as soon as tenants pen hits paper and it’s taking this long, it could mean trouble.

  17. Atlantic Station Resident August 17, 2011 at 11:09 am #

They did say in a comment on their Facebook page that Regal is indeed expanding in some way but that’s a separate issue from Dolce. Very interesting. I did notice walking through the other day that K-LA is relocating into another space and a store called Drew Lewis or something is coming this Fall next to The Body Shop.

Yay. I hated that place! Everything was way overpriced and it tasted like shit. Their tiramisu tasted like Jello pudding layered on betty crocker cakes. Their Moscato tasted like flavorless dry riesling. The portion size was tiny too – and I had to sit behind some pentecostal ladies complaining about they want to leave their husbands and do all the chores around the house. The setting was nice, the waiters were attractive – that was about it though. Im sure theyll be making more from unemployment than tips… it is Atlantic Station after all.

Awesome. I had an after-wedding-reception dinner reserved here for 6 months! It would have been great if someone would have told me that they were closing so I could make other plans.
