Top Chef’s Richard Blais to open new concept in San Francisco Coffee space on N Highland Ave

richard blais to launch new concept on n. highland ~ what now, atlanta?

On the Flip slide of his current burger concept: gourmet hot dogs?

UPDATE: Is Richard Blais’ new restaurant called Haute Doggery? Reliable sources say yes. We say, “Please, No.”

Are moist sausages of soft, even texture and flavor made from meat slurry, typically beef and pork, and sometimes chicken or turkey, in Top Chef Richard Blais’ future?

“Flip reps tell us that Blais is moving into the space but not with his burgeoning burger concept but rather with a sure-to-be equally imaginative take on hot dogs,” according to a post by Richard L. Eldredge with Atlanta Magazine.

Confirmed through his Twitter account, Blais will launch his new concept in the shuttered San Fransisco Roasting Company space at 664 N. Highland avenue in the Poncey-Highland area.

San Fransisco Coffee relocated (story here) just a few doors over this past June to 676 N. Highland avenue. SF Coffee has two locations on N. Highland avenue.

Here’s what Blais tweeted at 11:13 p.m. today, Nov. 16:

RichardBlais:
RT @guerciotti Breaking Foodie news? Fellow local Top Chef Richard Blais coming to old SanFranCoffee in Poncey highlands. <-- True!

Blais told us back in October at the media preview for Flip Burger in Buckhead that he would be launching a new concept but that details were still in the works.

And when they work through those details, read about them here!

Is the new San Fransisco Coffee location actually open yet? It seems like they’ve been delayed for months.
