Artist Grant Henry (Sister Louisa) To Reopen Danneman’s Coffee As New [Heavenly] Concept

danneman's coffee reopening as new concept ~ what now, atlanta?

A Marriage Made In Heaven

Danneman’s Coffee celebrated their “last supper” this past Sunday, Sep. 5 at 466 Edgewood Avenue in the Old Forth Ward (story here).

Grant Henry, local Atlanta artist who goes by alter ego, Sister Louisa, has leased the space and is in the process of launching his new concept: “Sister Louisa’s ‘Church’ of the Living Room and Ping Pong Emporium… Come On In, Precious!” The concept? Think: fellowship, Sister Louisa art, ping pong, and spirits. Currently under renovations, expect a reopening within the next few weeks.

The current coffee counter downstairs will be transformed into a bar centered around Grant Henry (Sister Louisa), thrice voted “Atlanta’s Best Bartender” by both Creative Loafing and The Sunday Paper.

The upstairs will offer a combination of music and Ping Pong, according to Henry who says there will be two Ping Pong tables.

“I will kick anyone’s ass who is up for the challenge.”

“Church,” as Henry calls partaking in his new concept, “will continue a long-standing tradition of thoughtful and provocative intercourse, high quality food and drink at the best value possible.”

Sister Louisa’s ‘Church’ of the Living Room and Ping Pong Emporium will offer coffee, lunch, dinner and desserts, the “celebration of life,” as Henry puts it, from 6:30 a.m. to 3:00 a.m.

“My motto is sleep when your dead,” Henry adds.

Grant Henry shows his work at the Telephone factory lofts. You might have seen the space if you participated in one of the Atlanta Blogging Workshops, run by Hollis Gillespie and Michael Alvear.

“I’m sure that the bleachy-haired honky bitch, Hollis Gillespie, will continuously spill more beans than she should. I promise Atlanta not to let her behind the bar.”

Keep up with the transformation by joining “Sister Louisa’s Church of The Living Room and Ping Pong Emporium” on Facebook.
