Failure Is Not An Option

Zaya Mediterranean Cuisine originally opened their Inman Park location in March of 2008. Now, just a little over two years later, Zaya will close this Sunday, June 20.

Insiders within the restaurant suggest that Zaya wasn’t receiving the necessary traffic to stay in business and was unable to compete with the nearby restaurant options.

These same sources wanted to make clear that, considering the rate of failing restaurants in Atlanta (we know a little bit about that around here) due to the overwhelming number of options, they are satisfied in having lasted this long.

Zaya opened a location on Emory University’s campus back in August of 2009 and sources indicate that concept is succeeding.

Success is so great at their Emory location that the owners have plans for opening a second (third until Sunday) location at the Georgia Institute of Technology in the student center, according to Corey Boone, student body President. The concept for the new location will utilize the same, quick serve philosophy that they use at the Emory location.

Fans of Zaya Mediterranean Cuisine can anticipate an August opening at the Institute of Technology.

Speaking of Emory… looking thru the window of bookstore construction, I see that there will be a Starbucks inside? What will hours of operation be and how will it impact the location in Emory Village? Also, what else is this building going to be for? Finally, any details on long-promised traffic circle at Emory Village?
