Nightclub Reopening Alcohol Free?
Now participating in College Football, Georgia State University is taking over Downtown Atlanta. Underground Atlanta, which is considered by some as part of the GSU campus, is experiencing this locust like invasion and local businesses are influenced to change business plans and concepts. Scores Sports Bar and Restaurant located at Kenny’s Alley in Underground Atlanta is currently undergoing renovations to turn into what many are calling the Panthers Den. A makeover that includes the GSU logo on windows and plans to incorporate the school radio for football sportscasts from the Dome, this sports bar is hoping to score big with GSU students.
Their adjacent nightclub, with room for a thousand, is also under renovation with plans of reopening by Super Bowl weekend. Club Underground (the supposed name of the new club, though a working title) will permit individuals 18 and older.
House Nightclub at Kenny’s Alley will also undergo major renovations and reopen within two months as University Club House. With Coca Cola holding the soda rights, the owners have yet to decide whether or not there will be alcohol. Either way, University Club House will also attract an 18 and older crowd.
Facing the inevitable, catering to college students looking to party and have a good time, these changes just might be the much-needed rejuvenation for Underground Atlanta.
